Smart Recovery - Self Management and Recovery Training

Join us for life beyond addiction - Friday's from 5:30-7pm. Open to the public. Build and maintain motivation -cope with urges - manage thoughts, behaviors and feelings - live a balanced life.

Breadbasket

Breadbasket Food Pantry distributes free produce, bread, and baked goods to Eastside residents each Monday at Allen Market Place, 1629 E Kalamazoo. Since March 2020, neighbors are welcome to stop by between 9 am – 1 pm to grab a number at the door, then return at 1 pm to claim their spot in line based on their number. If you are unable to get a number before 1 pm, arrive closer to 2 pm to eliminate waiting a long period of time.

Senior Discovery Group

The lively Wednesday Senior Discovery Group has been meeting weekly since October 2000 and offers “pretty good coffee and great conversation” to older neighbors from the Eastside and, indeed, from throughout the region. Each weekly gathering features a speaker on a wide range of pertinent and interesting topics.

Code Club

Coding and computer science are a new kind of digital literacy, and libraries all over the U.S. are stepping up to help everyone build 21st century skills. Your kids can learn important tech skills and have fun along the way. Code Club will meet every Wednesday starting Sept. 18th from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Shipman Room. Best for kids in 3rd grade and up. No coding expertise necessary & Drop-ins Welcome! No Pre-Registration required.

Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous was established in response to the success of Alcoholics Anonymous. NA is support group for those attempting to recover from drug addiction. other than alcohol. NA was officially founded in Los Angeles in 1953, and has spread to thousands of locations in 129 countries.

The only requirement to become a member of NA is a desire to overcome your addiction. NA groups don’t make a distinction between any type of drug, including alcohol. They also recognize that polysubstance dependence is common. Any person struggling with a substance use disorder (SUD) who wants to recover is welcome.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Need help with a drinking problem?

A.A. has a solution.  That isn't an empty promise.  A.A. has been helping alcoholics recover for more than 80 years.  A.A.'s program of recovery is built on the simple foundation of one alcoholic sharing with another.  If your drinking is out of control, A.A. can help.

Men's Divorce Care

Riverview offers support groups dedicated to the growth and recovery of men living through the pain and stress of separation and/or divorce. The group follows the DivorceCare guided discussions and meets at Riv's Holt Venue on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Family Participation Program Support Group

We’re offering our Family Support Group in a new hybrid format — you can now join us in person or virtually on the first Wednesday of every month.

This group is open to all Michigan families with incarcerated loved ones or if you are impacted by the justice system. It’s a gentle, judgment‑free space to listen, connect, and support one another through shared experiences. No pressure to share — just community, understanding, and care.

Compulsive Eaters Anonymous-HOW meeting

Do you need help with your eating? There is a solution.

Compulsive Eaters Anonymous – HOW (CEA-HOW) is a 12-Step fellowship for anyone suffering from compulsive eating, anorexia, and bulimia. We are a fellowship of individuals who share your problem and offer support. Come meet others who have found a working solution. Come to a meeting and start finding hope! In CEA-HOW membership is anonymous. There are no dues or fees for membership. The only requirement is a desire to stop eating compulsively.

There is a local in-person and virtual (hybrid) meeting on Tuesdays in Dewitt, Michigan. For other meetings and more information visit www.ceahow.org.

Compulsive Eaters Anonymous-HOW meeting

TOPS is a weight loss support group that meets once a week, we discuss weight loss topics and tell of experiences. No menus or specific diet plans, just support for one another. We have a weigh in from 5:30 to 6pm and our meeting is from 6 to 7pm.

Fiber Circle

The Charlotte Community Library Fiber Circle meets weekly on Mondays at 5:30pm as a social gathering for knitters, crocheters, and stitchers of all ages and skill levels. Although formal instruction is not provided, members often assist each other with techniques and skills.

Diabetes PATH

Does diabetes interfere with your quality of life?

Attend a free 6-week workshop!

Diabetes PATH (Personal Action Toward Health) is an interactive workshop designed to help individuals with diabetes or pre-diabetes improve their health and feel better. Caregivers are also welcome to attend.
