The MI Capital Cares website is created and maintained by the Capital Cares Collaboration, an alliance of the Clinton County Building Stronger Communities Council, the Eaton Human Services Collaborative Council, the Power of We Consortium, and the Regional Housing Plan, in cooperation with Central Michigan 211.

The purpose of this website is to provide a comprehensive directory of the health and human services available in Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties in Michigan. The Get Help page pulls from Michigan 211’s database but indexes and categorizes resources in common terms that make it easier for residents and frontline workers alike to quickly find information on the services they need.

It is important to note that while the resources listed on the Get Help page are thorough, it is not an exhaustive list of every resource in the tri-county area. To maintain a reliable database, 2-1-1 follows a specific inclusion/exclusion policy. 

In order to be listed in the 2-1-1 database, organizations must provide free or low-cost services, like sliding scale fees, subsidized care, care that is covered by Medicare and/or Medicaid. Generally, listed organizations fall into one of three types: Government Agencies, Nonprofits & Community Groups, or Educational Institutions. For-profit businesses (ex. Private Healthcare facilities/clinics) must be under contract or offer free or low-cost health or human services to the general public that are not otherwise offered by nonprofits and government organizations.
